Silent Art Auction – Friends of the Black Earth Public Library Fundraiser
Friday, November 15 through Friday, December 6
The annual Silent Art Auction is a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of the Black Earth Library. Get those bids ready because we have a variety of arts and crafts that would make perfect holiday gifts! Winning bids will be announced on Friday, December 6 at 4:00 p.m. All funds raised directly benefit the Black Earth Library.
Kids
December Activity Grab Bags for Kids
A new bag containing activity sheets, stickers, and a craft will be available starting Monday, December 2. Stop by the library to pick up your bag, or call 608-767-4905 to have a bag set aside.
Storytime
Tuesdays, December 3, 10, 17 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Join us for stories, songs, and fun activities with friends! Best for babies and toddlers, but the whole family is always welcome.
Toddler Art
Tuesdays, December 3, 10, 17 from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Come create, explore, and play at the library! Our art experiments for little hands are designed to encourage curiosity and build motor skills. Enjoy the process and come dressed for a mess.
Winter Break LEGO Club
Friday, December 27 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Join us at the library during winter break for LEGO Club! Great for all ages, and snacks will be provided.
Find the Gingerbread Man
In the month of December, come by the library to find the hidden gingerbread man in the children’s area. When you find the hidden picture each week, come to the circulation desk for a treat!
Teens & Adults
Spice of the Month Club
Each month we will be providing "take-and-make" kits featuring a different spice, herb, or blend. Each kit will include information about the featured spice, two simple recipe suggestions, and enough spice to make both of the recipes included. The kits are free, but supplies are limited. Please, only one kit per household. For December we’ll be offering star anise.
Book Discussion
Wednesday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m. in the Black Earth Municipal Building Meeting Room
Join us for a discussion of the novel Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan. Copies of the book, including large print and audio copies, are available at the library.
Tween & Teen Holiday Nail Art Party
Wednesday, December 18 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Students in grades 4-12 are welcome to join us at our Holiday Nail Art Party. We’ll supply nail polish and nail tools, but feel free to bring your own supplies too. Enjoy festive treats with friends while decorating your nails for the holidays. This program was planned by our Teen Advisory Board.
