Library News
Thank you to the Black Earth Village Board, who unanimously approved the proclamation establishing National Library Week on April 7-13! The proclamation re-iterates the importance of the library in our community and shows that we are stronger when we work together for positive change.

Virtual Yellowstone Information Session
Thursday, March 21 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Village Meeting Room
Join us for a showing of a presentation by Yellowstone National Park Ranger, all about Yellowstone National Park, where we'll learn about how the park looks during the winter and how the animals adapt to colder temperatures. Free and open to all ages, but kids must be accompanied by an adult. Presented by Wilderness Inquiry.

March Activity Grab Bags for Kids
A new bag containing activity sheets, stickers, and a craft will be available starting Friday, March 1. Stop by the library or call 608-767-4905 to have a bag set aside.
Storytime
Tuesdays, March 5, 12, 26 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Join us for stories, songs, and fun activities with friends! Best for babies and toddlers, but the whole family is always welcome. Note: no Storytime or Toddler Art on March 19.
Toddler Art
Tuesdays, March 5, 12, 26 from 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Come create, explore, and play at the library! Our art experiments for little hands are designed to encourage curiosity and build motor skills. Enjoy the process and come dressed for a mess. Note: no Storytime or Toddler Art on March 19.
Adults
Spice of the Month Club
The library is now offering the "Spice of the Month Club.” Each month we will be providing "take-and-make" kits featuring a different spice, herb, or blend. Each kit will include information about the featured spice, two simple recipe suggestions, and enough spice to make both of the recipes included. The kits are free, but supplies are limited. Please, only one kit per household. For March we’ll be offering Caraway Seeds.
UnBook Club
Saturday, March 23 at 2:30 p.m. in the Village Meeting Room
This book club has no required reading - just come hang out and talk about what you've been reading lately! Join the Facebook group to keep the conversation going between meetings, to get updates, and to get a list of books discussed at each meeting.

Wednesday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. in the Village Meeting Room
Join us for a discussion of the novel News of the World by Paulette Jiles. Copies of the book, including large print and audio copies, are available at the library.
Blood Pressure Monitoring with Mount Horeb Family Pharmacy
Thursday, March 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Village Meeting Room
Drop-in to the library to meet with a pharmacist from Mount Horeb Family Pharmacy and get a free blood pressure reading from a professional! Learn about the risks, and about the Libraries with Heart program offered by Black Earth Public Library, sponsored by the Wisconsin chapter of the American Heart Association. No registration required.
Voter Registration Fair
Saturday, March 9 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Attend the voter registration fair with Black Earth Public Library and the League of Women Voters of Dane County! You'll be able to request an absentee ballot, register to vote, pick up information literacy information, and more. There will even be activities for the kids like coloring pages and a chance for them to vote in their own election!

Need a notary? Our notary services are offered by our Director and she will be available at the following times in March:
Tuesday, March 12: 3pm-7pm
Wednesday, March 20: 12pm-4pm
Saturday, March 23: 10am-2pm
Tuesday, March 26: 3pm-7pm
For notary services outside of office hours, call ahead at 608-767-4905 to ensure the notary is available. Notary services are offered free of charge. Always bring a photo ID for notarizations.
